Design of a corner wardrobe in the living room photo

Your repost will change the Internet :)

The corner option for placing a wardrobe in the living room space will free up a lot of free space in the rest of the apartment. Due to the dimensions of this furniture will accommodate a large number of things that previously occupied a usable area. The main task is to correctly position this piece of furniture so that the cabinet is as comfortable as possible.

1. Features of corner models

Benefits:

  • It occupies the corner of the room, respectively, allows you to save the rest of the area,
  • Due to great demand, manufacturers offer a diverse selection of models: there are not only rectangular cabinets, but also a five-wall or a trapezoidal shape. A wide range also applies to the color palette,
  • Roomy furniture. Inside the modules, many shelves can be mounted that form an impressive storage area. The layout of the departments inside can be made to order, based on the personal preferences of the customer,

Disadvantages:

  • The special shape provides only angular placement,
  • The mechanism for moving door leafs occupies part of the usable area inside the cabinet,
  • During operation, regular care is necessary - you need to monitor the cleanliness of the mechanism.

2. Built-in wardrobes to order

Radial built-in corner furniture is an excellent option for combining several functional areas in one room.

For rooms of a small area, it is better to use a wardrobe with sliding sliding doors that occupy the entire wall. This design forms a spacious storage area, which does not visually stand out in the living room.

Sliding wardrobe (chipboard frame, frosted glass inserts).

Characteristic features of the design: lack of a back wall, floor and ceiling. The frame is formed of doors, side walls, shelves and partitions.

The facades are made of lacobel with photo printing.

Such furniture will allow you to economically and effectively equip the room, while at the same time getting a convenient place for storage.

3. Freestanding (not built-in) cabinets

The freestanding model, unlike the built-in version, has an element of the back wall, floor and ceiling. Sometimes to update the interior of the living room it is enough to change the position of the cabinet. Such furniture can be easily rearranged.

Cons of this option:

  1. loss of usable space due to floor, plinth, ceiling
  2. fits worse into the interior of the living room

Common sizes

Standard sizes of finished products in furniture stores

  • Length: 1300, 1500, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2700 mm,
  • Height: 2000, 2400 mm.

Most often, cabinets are designed for specific sizes, however, there are design features that should be considered in the planning process.

Optimum dimensions

  • The height of the basement is 7-10 cm,
  • Depth: 60 cm - external, 50 - internal shelves. This parameter can change within reasonable limits,
  • The width of the outer console of the radial shape is 300 mm (attachment element),
  • Width of shelves inside the cabinet: 40-100 cm.

Do not go beyond the limit values, otherwise the elements will bend.

  • The distance between the compartments inside: 30 cm (height),
  • Recommended rod length: 80-100 (increasing this parameter is undesirable, since deflection is possible),
  • Distance between the rods in height: 1.6 m - for long items, 0.8 m - for short items.

To adjust these values, it is better to take a break from your personal wardrobe.

  • Linear dimensions of drawers: width - from 0.4 to 0.8 m, height - from 0.1 to 0.3 m. In the event that a width of more than 0.6 m is needed, it is better to use chipboard material for the bottom (at using fiberboard, a deflection will appear).

4. What materials are used for facades

  • Mirror.

The mirror surface will increase the area visually. This effect is necessary for the design of small living rooms.

  • Sandblasted mirror.

A similar design is applied to a mirror surface. The drawing remains unchanged for a long time.

  • Chipboard.
One of the most popular options for creating furniture. Main properties: high strength, economical material with a long service life.

Thanks to modern technologies, chipboard panels are laminated, receiving material of any shade. A common texture of chipboard is wood imitation.
The main drawback: because of the special texture, the chipboard cannot become the basis for the formation of an elegant design.

  • MDF + particleboard.
MDF boards are more environmentally friendly than chipboard material, the structure allows you to perform a different shape. The surface can be glossy or matte, the palette of shades of MDF is diverse.
  • Natural wood.
Advantages: environmental friendliness, reliability, long-term operation.
    Disadvantage: high price.
  • Lacobel - glass, which is painted on one side with a specific composition. In order to increase strength, the top layer is created using a transparent film.

There is a large selection of lacobel colors; the price range for the material is also different.

  • Lacomat - frosted float glass, while the back surface is glossy. During the production of lacquer, special varnish is applied only on one side. This application method creates a mirror effect. This material is resistant to the appearance of prints on the surface.
  • Textures of exotic trees (rattan, bamboo, etc.).
Exotic woods can be used as a decorative insert for doors. The main advantage of this choice is the natural texture and organic design.

The mirror surface creates the effect of increasing the space in the living room.

5. Attachment modules

An open rack module is often used to complement a sliding wardrobe. On the shelves they place interior decor, indoor flowers and other items.

6. Ideas of internal content

In addition to drawers, the following filling options are interesting:

  • Cell storage - shelves and baskets, for the production of which steel with vinyl coating is used. This solution allows air to circulate freely, and the through structure does not clutter up the space. If you need to place an item with large dimensions, these elements can be temporarily removed.

  • Hanger lift (mechanical or automatic lifting system).

The most successful option is the layout of several filling options in the space of one wardrobe.

The best way to think through your closet is to draw it online.

Features of corner sliding wardrobes

The advantages of corner wardrobes include:

  1. Rational distribution of space. Occupying the corner area of the room, the closet saves free space.
  2. Roominess. Inside the cabinet can accommodate many shelves of different sizes, designed to store different items.
  3. Large selection of models in different colors, materials, shapes.

Advice! Before purchasing a cabinet, you should decide on a suitable shape. Corner wardrobes are five-walled, in the shape of a trapezoid or rectangle.

The corner cabinet is very functional and looks great in the interior of the living room

Cons of corner wardrobes:

  1. Their shape involves placing only in the corner of the room. That is, in the process of redevelopment, this cabinet can only be rearranged to a different angle, while cabinets of a rectilinear shape can be installed anywhere in the room.
  2. The sliding door movement mechanism occupies a usable space inside the cabinet.
  3. It is necessary to constantly monitor the cleanliness of the sliding mechanism so that it works properly.

White color of cabinet facades is a fashion trend of 2019

Natural wood

Natural wood furniture always looks luxurious and solid, but it is expensive. Natural wood massif is actively used in the manufacture of furniture for classic interior styles. This completely environmentally friendly material is afraid of moisture and temperature extremes, therefore it requires careful and careful care.

Natural wood in the living room interior - always a win-win

Chipboards are the most common material for the manufacture of cabinet furniture. Externally, chipboard looks unpresentable, therefore, without fail, a decorative coating is applied to its surface. The most popular of them:

  1. Lamination - lining of chipboard with a polymer or paper-resin film with subsequent painting. This method of decoration is used to create budget furniture.
  2. Lamination - covering plates with films of paper and melamine resin under the influence of high temperatures. Laminated surfaces are resistant to mechanical damage.
  3. Veneering - cladding with thin sheet material of natural wood. Cabinets made of veneered chipboard are more expensive than laminated ones, but require more careful maintenance. Veneered surface outwardly practically does not differ from solid wood.

Particleboard corner cabinet looks very elegant in the interior of any room

This material is more environmentally friendly than chipboard, therefore, furniture made from it is more expensive. MDF bends well and is milled, allowing you to create drawings, rounded elements on the facades of cabinets. This material can not be decorated with anything, but only painted in the desired color.

Pink glossy MDF facades look very impressive in the living room interior

Internal filling

The complete set of the cabinet depends on its dimensions and the requirements of the buyer, if the furniture is made to order. Standard models consist of the following sections:

  1. Hanger (hooks and rods) for clothes: usually it occupies the main compartment, for tall cabinets the idea of using a hanger-elevator with a system of mechanical or automatic lifting will be successful
  2. Shelves and drawers for clothes, linen and accessories,
  3. Shelves for shoes: placed below.

It is better to voice your preferences on the internal content of the cabinet to the seller in advance

In addition to the standard equipment, the sliding wardrobe can be equipped with steel shelves and baskets, which usually store small items. If you plan to put something large in the cabinet, for example, a vacuum cleaner, these shelves can be easily pulled out and removed.

Advice! You can add a sliding wardrobe by attaching an additional module to it - a rack, which is suitable for placing flowers, vases, figurines and other decorative elements.

Blank facade

Sliding wardrobe with blind facades - a classic option. The type of facade is matched to the style of the interior in which the living room is decorated. So, a wardrobe in the style of classicism should have wooden surfaces. For modern interiors, a solid-color chipboard facade is suitable.

Corner wardrobe with solid façades decorated in a checkerboard style is ideal in the interior of a black and white living room

Mirror

The second most popular type of facade is a mirror. Doors can be decorated with large or small mirror inserts or can be completely with a mirror surface. The mirror reflects the light, making the room visually larger, deeper, lighter, more spacious, which is why the cabinet with mirrored doors is recommended for installation in small living rooms.

The mirror can be placed in the center of the corner wardrobe

To prevent the mirror from accidentally impacting into many small dangerous fragments, it is covered with a special film that can be matte, transparent and colored.

If you slightly tint the mirror surface of the cabinet, the effect will be amazing

Photo printing

Modern design ideas for a corner wardrobe in the living room involve the use of photo printing. On the surface of the door you can apply any image. Most firms involved in the manufacture of sliding wardrobes have a catalog of popular photographs and pictures that can decorate the facade of furniture. You can bring your own version of the image. The drawing is applied to the back surface of the glass, so it does not wear off and does not fade in the sun.

Corner wardrobe with a photo print pattern

You can beat photo printing beautifully in any style of interior. For classic living rooms, paintings by famous Renaissance artists are suitable. In modern styles, for example, minimalism, black-and-white city landscapes will look appropriate. Sliding wardrobe with photo printing can become a highlight of the living room. So, you can add sun and heat to the interior by choosing a bright sunset image, and you can make the atmosphere fresher and cooler with the help of a sea landscape or photographs of rocky peaks covered with snow.

Sandblast

One of the most popular decorating methods is to apply a pattern to a glass or mirror surface using a stream of air and abrasive particles. An image painted with sand on a mirror does not require special care. It is not afraid of moisture, temperature changes. This way of decorating is inexpensive, and looks stylish and elegant. The most popular sandblasting images: floral patterns, birds, butterflies, figures of girls. Sandblasting on frosted glass looks beautiful.

Lacomat and lacobel

Lacomat is a specialized frosted glass. It is resistant to moisture and mechanical damage. Lacomat is a non-marking material, fingerprints are practically invisible on its surface. Furniture with such a surface looks original.

Lakobel is a decorative glass, one of the sides of which is painted. The paint can be of any color: tender pastel, bright and bold, mysterious dark or universal light. Colors can be combined.

Natural materials

In the interior of any living room, a corner wardrobe with a facade made of natural materials will look luxurious. So, in the decoration often use leather. It is environmentally friendly, not prone to fading and deformation, gives a solid and respectable appearance of furniture. Furniture manufacturers offer a wide range of leathers. You can choose a material of bright saturated color, dense in structure and hard to the touch or softer, more delicate skin with a velvety color.

Materials such as bamboo and rattan are able to maintain a presentable appearance for a long time, are not afraid of moisture, high and low temperatures, sunlight. They create warmth and comfort in the room. All these materials go well with plastic, glass and particleboard. Leather finish.

Thus, the corner wardrobe will be appropriate in the living room of any size. A large assortment of facades allows you to choose a design that suits the style of the interior. Professionals recommend not purchasing ready-made cabinets, but made to order. Such a piece of furniture will contain all the necessary things to the maximum and become a decoration of the living room.

Advantages and disadvantages

Modern corner cabinets are presented in a wide variety of options, sizes and shapes, but a common feature of all models is that they are designed to be placed between two walls. Such designs are endowed with a lot of advantages:

  1. Compactness. Because of their shape, the cabinets occupy a small area, leaving no empty space behind them.
  2. Roominess. For convenience, the internal space of the cabinet is divided into shelves, drawers, compartments, in which you can store a variety of things in an orderly manner.
  3. Interesting design, ideas for any interior. Due to the variety of textures and colors, you can choose the model that fits perfectly.

There are practically no shortcomings in the corner cabinet. These include a higher cost compared to the linear model. Another disadvantage is that if you want to make a permutation, changing the location of the corner structure will be difficult.

Cabinet furniture with an angular arrangement is difficult to design, it is not recommended to make drawings and make such a cabinet at home.

Varieties of designs

All models of cabinet furniture can be conditionally divided into several categories depending on the features of their design, as well as the nuances of use:

  1. Modular. The cabinet consists of several separate parts for different purposes and sizes, they can be installed together or separately, sometimes there are external shelves in the kit. If you choose just such an option, there are a great many design solutions, bold and original. The modular cabinet is also distinguished by functionality, convenience.
  2. Closet. A good option for rooms of small sizes, since opening its doors does not require additional space. The design style can be anything you like, but most often such designs differ in clear geometric shapes, minimal decor.
  3. Wall. Dimensional design, consisting of several sections. The internal content differs depending on the model, the walls can be equipped with drawers, a niche for a TV, shelving, bookshelves, clothing compartments.
  4. Corner bar cabinet. His showcase with beautiful dishes will look good in the interior of the living room, cabinets of this type are placed even in a small space.
  5. Pencil case. Slim design with two side and rear walls, one or two wings. One of the few options suitable for installation in a small room.
  6. Sideboard. Classic cabinet furniture for the living room: shelves for dishes are located behind the glass doors. Although this is not the most modern option, the sideboard sometimes looks very organically, adding sophistication to the room. Perfectly fits into the classic interior.
  7. Slide. A distinctive feature of this corner cabinet is its shape - a kind of ladder made of modules, where you can store books, souvenirs, photographs. Glazed compartments often put beautiful dishes.
  8. Showcase. Most of the facade, and sometimes the shelves, are made of glass. It is used to demonstrate valuable objects, antiques, beautiful dishes.

Variety of shapes

With a corner cabinet, you can visually adjust the room to size. For example, if you put it perpendicular to the longest side of the room, it will appear shorter. It will also help hide bumps on the surface of the living room wall. To choose the right option for a particular room, you need to familiarize yourself with the forms of different models.

  1. Triangular. Although it takes up a lot of space compared to other options, it is an inexpensive, roomy, easy to assemble and manufacture cabinet design. It is easiest to design it yourself.
  2. Trapezoidal. It is easily combined with other interior items. Thanks to the form, you can pick up the original design, introduce any ideas for design.
  3. With five walls. A capacious overall design, most often it is built-in and is used to equip the dressing room.
  4. Radius. Fits well in living rooms in a modern style. It looks spectacular, unusual, there are models with both curved and concave facades. It is worth considering that the bulges increase the internal space of the corner cabinet. Disadvantages - high cost, complexity of manufacturing, installation.
  5. L-shaped. The classic version, convenient, functional. It has many compartments for different things, does not take up extra space. This shape of the corner cabinet will fit into the living room of any style and type, depending on the decor of furniture you can choose the most suitable design.

Materials of manufacture

Not only the appearance of furniture, but also its service life depends on the materials of manufacture. In addition to reasonable cost, attractive design, you need to look at durability, strength, resistance to humidity, mechanical damage. For life, these qualities will be important. The most common materials:

  1. Solid wood. Due to the time-consuming processing and significant cost, solid wood furniture is quite expensive. At the same time, it does not stand out with special operational properties in the living room, it does not greatly surpass other materials. The undoubted advantage is the environmental friendliness of raw materials.
  2. Chipboard. Particleboard is a pressed sawdust bonded with resins. A high concentration of adhesives will not benefit health, so only classes E0 or E1 are safe for the home. Moisture resistance and strength of chipboard is inferior to solid wood, but it costs much less, it looks presentable.
  3. Fine fraction. MDF is a wood chip glued with paraffin at high temperature. For this reason, it is environmentally friendly, and also less allergenic than particleboard. It is easy to decorative, pleasant to look and touch. Strength and other parameters correspond to those necessary for the manufacture of a cabinet in the living room.
  4. Furniture shield. A reasonable compromise between solid wood, which is very similar in appearance, and panels of sawdust. It is inexpensive, easy to repair. If a small part is damaged, it is not necessary to change the entire part.

Facade decoration and coloring

For a headset, not only operational properties are significant, but also aesthetic characteristics. In order for the type of cabinet in the living room not to spoil the interior of the entire room, it is necessary that its style and shade be combined with other objects. A large dark model will not fit into a room decorated exclusively in bright colors - it will attract undue attention to itself. Such a wall, slide or pencil case is appropriate only where the rest of the furniture is similar in shade, and the space is large enough so that its visual reduction is not critical. Mirrors on the doors, on the contrary, will create an illusory expansion.

Ideally, the tone of the headset and the room should completely match, this gives the atmosphere harmony, home comfort.

To maintain a unified style, you need to choose objects with similar shapes. For example, for the modern direction, where the table, backs of chairs, chairs do not have sharp corners, all the details are rounded, smoothed, it is better to choose a radial cabinet with a hemispherical facade. The high-tech and minimalism styles fit the model of the correct geometric shape, without unnecessary decorations. Facades can be glossy or matte, preferred colors are gray, beige, white, black, metallic. For classic interiors, natural wood textures, carved decor elements, baguettes, stucco molding are relevant.

Posting Rules

The very name of the corner cabinet already speaks of the obvious principle of its installation. If the living room is of the correct shape, that is, close to a square or not too elongated rectangle, the cabinet can be placed in almost any corner, making sure that it does not block the natural light from the window, and also does not interfere with the passage. The place near the door is not the most successful, it is unpleasant to bump into the end wall immediately upon entering the room. In a narrow living room, furniture items help to adjust the space - if you place shelves along a smaller wall, you can hide its awkward proportions.

Placing a large slide or wall in a room with miniature furniture is not worth it; it is better to leave it for spacious houses.

Usually, when arranging large pieces of furniture, they use the principle of symmetry to balance them with each other: for example, a sofa or a table with chairs can stand in front of the cabinet. This option is suitable for living rooms of any size. It is especially convenient when in one of the shelving modules there is a niche for a TV.

In general, a corner cabinet is a useful design, represented by a host of different models and design options. For each house there is a suitable option that meets the requirements of the owners. When choosing, it is worth considering the purpose of the model, the dimensions and style of the room.

If the living room is of the correct shape, then the cabinet can be placed in almost any corner To place a large slide or wall in a room with miniature furniture is not worth it When choosing, it is worth considering the purpose of the model, the dimensions and style of the room

Advantages and disadvantages

These designs have both positive characteristics and significant disadvantages. The advantages of installing them in the living room include:

  • the corner cabinet is located exclusively in a certain corner of the room, which ensures the preservation of usable space in the middle of the room, so it does not interfere with the comfortable and free movement of people in the living room,
  • the demand for such products is considered to be high, so manufacturers offer a really good selection of such models that differ in design, manufacturing material, size, filling and other factors, therefore, for each living room, made in an unusual style, an ideal cabinet is chosen,
  • corner furniture is spacious, although it seems compact in appearance, but at the same time it is equipped with many storage systems that allow it to contain really many different items that differ in size and purpose.

The disadvantages include a specific form, due to which installation is allowed only in the corner of the room, so if you want to change the installation location, this can only be done in some other angle. Typically, the doors open in such a way that they occupy usable space inside the product, which is not always convenient for users.

Trapezoid

Such a design is considered quite interesting, but in appearance it seems bulky. On one side there is a small side wall in it, due to which a trapezoid shape is created. Due to the good roominess of such a cabinet, it is possible to use rationally and competently the internal space, for which numerous storage systems are installed. Such products fit well into the living room, and can also be equipped with open shelves that store various souvenirs, decorative dishes or books.

Triangular

This version of the corner cabinet is considered the most popular and often purchased. It is installed in the free corner of the living room, and there are three parts to it. One is represented by an angular element, and the other two, which have identical dimensions and parameters, are installed on two sides of it.

Many models are not equipped with side walls, so shelves or other storage systems are fixed to the walls of the room. The features of using a triangular corner cabinet include:

  • bumps in the corners
  • the design fits perfectly in a variety of styles,
  • considered easy to use,
  • Ideal for square living rooms.

Triangular patterns are considered the most common, so most models have this shape.

With five walls

The five-sided sliding wardrobe has small side walls. They make it possible to increase the functionality of the internal content of the structure.

Outside there is a lot of space intended for mounting numerous modules or consoles. Such a model is chosen if it is really necessary to place a large number of different objects in the living room that are large and small in size.

L shaped

Such models, along with triangular ones, are considered the most popular and common. They are universal, so they fit perfectly into different sizes and shapes of the room.

L-shaped models combine the features of two straight structures connected in one cabinet. Due to the unusual device, the efficiency of using the internal part of the structure is guaranteed, so it can be equipped with numerous storage systems.

Radius

It is considered a kind of triangular corner cabinet. Its features include the unusual appearance of the door, since it is rounded. Its movement is ensured by the installation of high-quality guides.

The cabinet can have different types of doors:

  • convex, and glass is usually used for their production,
  • concave
  • wavy, giving any room originality.

Such a cabinet is often chosen due to its unusual appearance.

Facade decoration

When choosing a corner cabinet, customers take into account not only its size, shape and design, but also the appearance. Therefore, it is determined how the facade is designed. For this, different technologies and methods can be used:

  • mirrored doors give any living room lightness and grace, as well as contribute to the visual expansion of space, which is especially true for small rooms,
  • drawing drawings with a sandblasting apparatus, which allows to obtain truly original, bright and interesting patterns that preserve a unique appearance for a long time,
  • closed cabinets made of chipboard or MDF, imitating natural wood, stone or other expensive and sophisticated materials,
  • natural wood doors are environmentally friendly, have a long service life and high reliability, but have a high price,
  • lakobel is represented by a special glass, painted on one side with a special coloring mixture, and it is further glued with a special film to increase strength,
  • Lacomat is a frosted float glass with a glossy surface on the back,
  • drawing on the doors of numerous drawings, for which woodcarving, painting or other decorative techniques are used,
  • photo printing, which allows you to put different drawings and photographs on the doors, so the owners of the room themselves determine what the appearance of the facade will be.

Thus, the design of corner closets can be carried out using various styles and techniques.

Corner wardrobe in the living room interior - advantages and disadvantages

The correct choice and location of the corner closet in the living room will not only free up the space of the room, but also abandon many pieces of furniture in the remaining rooms. Due to the good spaciousness of the cabinet, a large number of things can be placed in it.

Designs have both positive characteristics and some shortcomings.

The benefits include:

  • The design occupies only the corner of the living room, which allows you to save the rest of the room.
  • Since the demand for such furniture is very high, and therefore manufacturers offer a wide and varied selection of models that differ in design, dimensions, manufacturing material, colors.
  • Despite the compactness of corner wardrobes, they are very spacious and have many storage systems.
  • Sliding wardrobe allows you to hide defects in the decoration of the room.
  • Suitable for storing a variety of things: from clothes and shoes to all kinds of accessories.

It has an angular design and its drawbacks:

  • The shape of the furniture allows only its corner installation.
  • The door opening mechanism occupies part of the interior of the cabinet.
  • The need for constant care of the mechanism and its cleaning.

Corner wardrobe designs

By design, the corner cabinet with sliding doors can be built-in or cabinet. Each design has both positive qualities and minuses. The choice of one or another type of product is the individual preference of the owners of the room.

Built-in corner closet in the living room

A characteristic feature of the built-in corner wardrobe is the lack of a back wall, as well as a floor and ceiling.

Such cabinets are a single unit with the surfaces on which they are built in, namely: walls, floor, living room ceiling. Embedding a corner cabinet means that only sections, shelves and a sliding system can be embedded in a corner. These models are stationary and it is impossible to move them or move them to another room.

Regardless of whether the wardrobe is only built into the corner, or occupies a wall, it saves space in the room and will be more compact with the same internal volume.

In addition, the functionality of the built-in furniture adds its shape. So a corner built-in wardrobe of radius shape will help combine several functional areas in one living room.

And for rooms with a small area, it is better to choose an L-shaped wardrobe, which will occupy the wall, will become a spacious place to store things and at the same time it will not visually stand out in a small room.

Cabinet models of corner cabinets with sliding facades in the living room

The main difference between frame furniture and built-in furniture is the presence of its own body, and all kinds of storage systems are mounted in it.

The advantage of the cabinet is its mobility. That is, the furniture can always be rearranged or moved to another room.

The design is made of side walls, top and bottom, rear wall and facade in the form of a sliding door.

The shape of the corner closet in the living room can be radial, angular or L-shaped.

The choice depends on the features of the room, the basic style of the interior, as well as the preferences of the owners.

For the manufacture of sidewalls and horizons of a corner sliding wardrobe, as well as for these details of any other frame furniture, chipboard and MDF are used. The frame is rarely made of natural wood, because it is expensive, the furniture is very heavy, and the possibilities of decorating wooden cabinets are limited.

Popular in chipboard manufacturing. In addition to the fact that furniture made of this material has a moderate cost, its decor options are unlimited - from applying drawings to multicolored laminates.

Sidewalls - this is primarily the strength of the cabinet, so their thickness is very important. If the walls are made of chipboard, the material must be three-layer, and the wall thickness is at least 16 millimeters.

In addition, it is important to pay attention to the edge. This seemingly small detail not only hides raw joints for beauty, it prevents the evaporation of formaldehydes and extends the life of furniture, protecting chipboard from moisture and temperatures. The most popular and high-quality edge is PVC.

They cover the sides and horizons with varnish, laminate, film, veneer, plastic. The main thing is that the coating fits snugly on the plate itself and does not form bubbles and defects.

A special role is played by the rear wall of the corner cabinet body with sliding doors. Such furniture should have good rigidity, which is created by the back wall. A part is made of fiberboard, and therefore, in order to avoid unsteadiness, additional cross ties are attached.

The back wall is attached to the rest of the frame either on special fittings, or inserted into the groove. The simplest, but not reliable option is to fasten fiberboard with furniture nails.

The device and features of sliding mechanisms of sliding wardrobes

Sliding wardrobes are those because of the main feature - a sliding door. The system is easy to operate and also saves the space needed to open the swing door.

Depending on the material of manufacture, sliding systems are: aluminum, steel, wood.

The most practical, durable and reliable systems are made of aluminum.

Structurally, sliding systems are support and suspension.

  • Support systems are more reliable and popular. The support of the system is the lower roller, which is installed on the lower edge of the door. The principle of the mechanism is quite simple. The upper rollers move along the upper guide and hold the door in a vertical position, and the lower roller, the support serves as an element of locking in the extreme position. Despite the reliability and stability of the system, it has a certain minus - garbage that falls into the lower roller, over time, makes the door difficult to move, and therefore the mechanism requires constant care and cleaning. Support systems are the best option for large door sizes.
  • The upper suspension mechanism is more complex than the supporting one. It is arranged in such a way that the carriage with rollers moves in a special profile, which does not allow the moving part of the system to fall out. Such a system does not require a profile frame, provides stability of the door and its easy and silent movement. Guides are mounted only in the upper part. The difficulty of installing such a system is the need to organize reliable fastening of the plane with the profile to the ceiling.

Particular attention should be paid to the components of the mechanism, which include rollers, guides and a seal.

The main material for the manufacture of the profile is aluminum because of its lightness, strength and durability. Options with steel rails are also possible, but their quality will be an order of magnitude lower.

The base of the rollers is made of steel, and their wheels are nylon. It is this type of rollers that will ensure silent movement of the door of the wardrobe, will withstand a serious load and will last a long time. It is important to consider that a certain type of roller is suitable only for a certain type of guide.

Another important component is the brush seal. Despite the fact that it is considered an additional component, it performs several necessary functions - removes cracks, softens the blow and prevents dust from entering the cabinet.

Designs of doors of a compartment - how are arranged

The doors of the corner wardrobe in the living room can have various designs. According to this parameter, sliding doors are divided into the following types:

  • On roller mechanisms. This system involves moving the door by rolling rollers on a solid rail.
  • Profile. The door is framed by a special profile of aluminum, steel or wood, which ensures its smoother movement.
  • Frameless. The door is a solid canvas chipboard, which is suspended on a roller mechanism.
  • Radius doors. Suitable for semicircular cabinets. Thanks to the bent profile, it is possible to create the most original designs.

An important point is the correct calculation of the dimensions of the door. There are no particularly severe restrictions, but there are recommended parameters that were determined empirically during the operation of doors of this type:

  • The minimum leaf width is 50 centimeters. Such a width is permissible, but skewing may occur and the door will jump out of the rails.
  • The maximum width is 110 centimeters. Such a door will open only with considerable effort.
  • The optimal width is considered to be a width of 60 to 90 centimeters.
  • As for the height, it depends on the height of the ceiling of the room.
  • The number of flaps is calculated depending on the width of the opening. It is important that the leaves do not block access to the interior of the wardrobe.

The width of the sash for a two-door sliding door wardrobe is considered as follows: the profile width is added to the width of the opening and the resulting number is divided by two.

To calculate the sash width for a cabinet with three sashes, double profile width is added to the width of the opening and the sum is divided by three.

The design of the facades of cabinets with sliding doors

It is important to consider not only the size and content of the wardrobe, but also the external design. Decorate facades using all kinds of materials, styles and techniques.

  • Mirror doors not only visually expand the space, but also give the living room a special elegance and grace.
  • Sandblasting will make the facade original and give it uniqueness.
  • The facades of particleboard and fiberboard with the finish give the appearance of natural wood or stone.
  • Wooden facades look rich and luxurious, they are durable and environmentally friendly, the only negative is their high cost.
  • Facades from special types of glass - lacobel and lacquer. The first is painted in different colors on the one hand, and the varnish is frosted glass with a glossy back surface.
  • Decorate the facades with carvings, paintings and other methods of decoration.
  • Photo printing allows owners to show imagination and decide which photo or drawing will adorn the facade of the cabinet.
