Kronopol Laminate - Review by the wizard

Kronopol is a popular company of laminated surfaces from Poland. Boards are made exclusively from coniferous species of wood, mainly from pine. It should be noted that this wood comes from the places of planned felling. The amount of wood used in one slab is about 80%, which indicates its high environmental friendliness. The remaining 20% includes wood chips, bark and sawdust, which the company receives as waste from other wood processing industries. The manufacturer brings to the first place product safety for human health, therefore, the laminate has an environmental class E1.

This means that harmful emissions (including formaldehyde) are negligible, and such sex can be put even in the nursery - there should not be any harm, let alone smell.

Polish products comply with all the highest European standards, therefore the brand is popular in Europe. In addition, the laminated boards in question are recyclable. The company produces the following laminate:

  • 31 class, which is used for home or small office,
  • 32 class (Ferrum Omega collection) - for a kitchen or a store with low traffic,
  • Grade 33 (King Size collection) can be used in dance halls, hypermarkets. The manufacturer promises a long service life (from 20 years) with preservation of appearance.

The thickness of the board varies from 6 to 12 mm, the wear resistance class is AC 3-5. The Kronopol catalog presents a laminate of various price categories, from the cheapest models to exclusive expensive ones. The buyer is provided with a wide selection of products depending on the budget. In addition to environmental friendliness, the manufacturer claims many advantages of their products: it does not fade in the sun, is moisture resistant, does not deform from heavy loads, has a high-strength locking system, an excellent choice of colors, in most collections the laminate has antistatic properties.

What really happens can only be said based on consumer reviews that talk about the advantages and disadvantages of models.

Reviews

Opinions are divided. Some believe that this is an upscale laminate with a reliable and durable coating that is not afraid of wet cleaning, no scratches, or dents from furniture. Even the spilled green, but washed immediately, left no residue. Moreover, this half of the buyers said that there were no difficulties with styling. Others describe that their problems began with laying the cover. Complain that very tight locks, curved boards, which are difficult to assemble into a single canvas.

It can be noted that not everyone withstood 48 hours in the room where the coating was collected - deformations can be associated with this.

The minuses still include a large number of marriage. Someone notes a very high percentage (about 70%), someone - within the normal range (5%). Some also note that the lamellas are easy to cut, while others dispute this plus, referring to the insufficient density of the product. Because of this, of course, durability is reduced.

Laminate Kronopol Aurum - Senso, Pros and Cons

In principle, the Kronopol laminate is assembled quickly, but with the maximum desire to fit the planks tightly along the end - you can overdo it and form a hall edge. I had to re-fit the laminated board. Most likely this drawback was facilitated by the presence of a thin colored chamfer.

Dark “Mambo Oak” with a brown chamfered edge turned out to be difficult to connect exactly at the seam. With a shift of 0.5 mm to one side or the other, either a chamfer hall or a small gap could occur. Perhaps some panels had a 90 degree angle violation. I consider myself a professional master, but a marriage with breaking the edges occurred several times. I had to put off some of Kronopol Aurum's trim strips.

The second point that I did not like was the very thin edge of the castle. Such a locking connection will hold poorly at break. Why can premature gaps at the ends be formed due to a coating divergence during a humidity drop between turning the central heating on and off.

Also a minus of Kronopol Senso is the violation of the geometry of the strip in width. For a laminate, the cost is 1100-1300 rubles. m2 is unacceptable. The photograph clearly shows the difference in width of one die relative to the second.

The brand's pluses are what they should be at a given cost of goods. The strength of the coating and the plate itself, a beautiful relief texture, the presence of a shallow chamfer.

For some, membership in the EPLF European Manufacturers Association will be important. Although, it seems to me, you should not pay close attention to this. They pay money for it, so that later they sell products more expensive. There is a sign of environmental friendliness E1.

Laminate Kronopol Aurum Senso - review

I wouldn’t buy a Polish laminate Kronopol Aurum Senso. Fairly easy possibility of creasing the edges when laying. A very flimsy lock partition - more importantly. There are violations of the geometry of the strip in width, due to which cracks are formed. Tactile amenities, 10 mm board thickness and high material density do not compensate for these shortcomings.

Laminate rating is a conditional concept. It is subjective, but sincere. The concept of geometry, for example, two (**) can relate to the presence of defects, and, accordingly, affects the complexity of the flooring.

Where is it used?

In almost every house in Poland, at least one room is covered with this coating, because the popularity of this brand has become known far beyond the borders of this country and it is prestigious to have such a floor at home. The Poles themselves highly appreciate the wear resistance of the laminate, noting that any impact on it leaves no residue. Even with ashes from cigarettes, the surface remains perfect.

Those who primarily care about their health note the environmental friendliness of such a product, because it has the appropriate quality certificates (ISO 9001: 2008), which once again suggests that the Poles reacted with all their heart and trepidation to creating really good products. Such popularity aroused the interest of foreign investors, and now Kronopol products are distributed in many cities around the world, delighting residents of different ages and social status.

Wear resistance is determined by three classes:

Class 31 (AC3) - applicable for home use, as well as for a small office with a low floor load.

Laminate Kronopol - review of the master. Aurum Senso Collection

In April 2018, I came across a Kronopol Aurum laminate, a Senso collection. I decided to describe this laminated coating in more detail, since I consider it unacceptable in quality for a retail price of about 1200 rubles / m2.

Upon arrival at the address I saw several half-dismantled rows of laminate with partially damaged locks. The customer said that they thought to install on their own, but failed. What were very surprised, since in another apartment the laminated floor of another manufacturer was installed quickly.

I explained that most likely that brand was with a classic 3G lock, and Senso has a 5G lock connection, which has a different mounting principle.

The newest version of the quick installation method is the EXPRESS CLICK SYSTEM lock, which, in comparison with other methods, provides the highest density for mounting panels. A distinctive feature of Click locks is the quick and easy installation.

In order to operate the purchased panels for the longest possible time, please read the instructions before starting installation.

INSTALLATION AND USE RULES WARRANTY

Laminate flooring panels SWISS KRONO are designed for use as a finishing material for floors in residential premises, as well as in public areas with stable climatic conditions. Optimum conditions: temperature 16-22 ° C, air humidity 40 - 65%.

1. Laminate floor panels should not be installed in rooms where the humidity level exceeds 65%, i.e. in bathrooms, saunas, laundries, etc.

2. Laminate floor panels SWISS KRONO can be installed in rooms with underfloor heating.

3. Floor panels with AC3 abrasion resistance class can be mounted in premises with medium traffic. Floor coverings with AC4 abrasion resistance class can be mounted in high traffic areas and in public areas with low traffic. Floorboards with AC5 abrasion resistance class can be mounted in residential premises with high traffic and public areas with medium traffic (except for dance halls, gyms, etc.).

4. The floor panels must be laid according to the installation instructions in enclosed rooms heated in winter to room temperature (the installation instructions can be found on the label attached to the packaging of the floor panels or on the underside of the box).

5. The base on which the laminated panels will be installed must be even, dry, strong and clean (irregularities should not exceed 2 mm per 1 megapixel surface). On a base prepared in this way, a certified PE vapor barrier film with a minimum thickness of 0.2 mm overlap (about 15 cm) should be laid and glued with waterproof tape. We also use vapor barrier film when installing panels on the floor with water heating. The film should be turned on the walls to the height of the upper edge of the baseboard. Next, we lay the leveling lining material. During installation, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the linings used.

6. The panels in the original packaging must be acclimatized for at least 48 hours before assembly in the room in which they will be placed (at a temperature of at least 16 ° C and a relative humidity of 40 - 65%).

7. Stacked panels create the so-called “floating floor”. Therefore, it must not be glued, nailed or otherwise attached to the base of the floor or wall (with the exception of stairs).
